Walking to start up with and slowly work on body weight lifting exercises. Then I will move into resistance/ weight lifting. I need to tighten up my organs and core as well as my muscles that hold my joints in. It’s all connected to something . Now I’m hearing exercise connects mind and body, guards against dementia !
I will be running my first marathon at 65
Stop calling Seniors 73 years young. That’s an insult.
Fitness walking and doing bodyweight exercises is a great way to get in shape and stay in shape. Walking is gentle on the body and the mind. Start walking now and you will be able to continue doing this great exercise well into your advanced years!
Oh Wow! only in America a shirt and tie in the gym!
I’m 62, I surf (up to a little overhead) and just placed 2nd overall in Costa Rica Nationals volleyball doubles. No need to stop!
Honestly when I was in Korea and Taiwan and I was seeing seniors race past me as they climbed up mountains and crouching down/kneeling in a sustained way, I knew that the approach to physical fitness that most people who are elderly/golden years in Canada was NOT the way to go. I am now 34 and I am realizing that I NEED to get physically fit now, as it will be easier the younger I start.
I guess there are no colored people in Michigan?
Here is a book about Muscle, Health and Strength if you’re interested: https://bit.ly/2LBFfrU
It’s so important for seniors to remain active, and there are so many modified exercise programs available to meet any need. More senior health resources and help for healthy aging can be found here: http://www.ngcare.com/resources/
